§Introduction:- 1) She was born in Chondi (Maharashtra).

2) Devi Ahilya is also known as - "Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar".

3) She was married to Khanderao Holkar in 1773 at the age of 8 years.

4) Her husband Khanderao was killed in the "Battle of Kumbhar", leaving her a widow at the age of 29years.

5) Now, her "Father-in-law" : Malhar Rao Holkar had been her strongest pillar of support at the time.

6)Now, Ahilya's son Malerao Holkar ascending the throne under her legacy.

7)Her only son a Malerao too died, a few months into his rule in 1767.

8) Now, she took matters into her own hands. she petitioned the peshwa after her son's death, to take over the administration herself.

9) Now, she became the 'Queen of Malwa".




§Some crucial works & achievements of Devi Ahilya:-

1) She was famous for built numerous buildings, forts, temples & roads  and gave donations to many Hindu temples.
2) Current structure of Vishnupad Temple is built by - Devi Ahilya.
3) Her capital Maheshwar was known for its distinct craftsmanship, sculptures & artists.
4) She never observed Purdah & held daily public audience.
5) No more farmers were under oppression but self-sufficient man in his own right.
6) She constructed Chintamani Ganapati near Kshipra river, in Ujjain district of MP.
